Field Applications Engineer

Description:
Provide pre- and post-sales, in-depth technical support to customers developing Enterprise, Data-Center, and Access, Consumer, Industrial, Computer, Military and Service-Provider network equipment. Provide expertise in the use of Micron's Memory products for a myriad of applications.

Responsibilities:
- Work with customers to attain design wins and qualifications of Micron memory products in their applications with focus on solid state drives (SSDs).
- Drive technical engagements with customers and host conference calls with customers and sales as necessary.
- Interface with Micron technical support personnel, engineering, and product management to escalate and resolve issues.
- Provide technical support to customers and the field sales force. Support includes applications advice, product recommendations, and technical problem resolution.
- Visiting and/or contacting production customers to determine their needs for new products.
- Provide product training
- Working with marketing and factory applications engineering to review and respond to product specifications and technical questionnaires submitted by customers
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex customer incidents in a timely manner
- Review and assist in the debugging of customer problems
- Guidance and assistance in development of customer architectures and hardware selections.
- Replicate issues and testing of customer configurations in a lab environment.
- Maintain daily updates in the database on the progress with customer issues.
- Work proactively with Micron sales and Representatives to develop new accounts
- Maintain daily updates in the database on the progress with customer engagements and report weekly with management

Requirement:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years of work experience in the field
- Previous experience in either a technical support engineering or FAE role is desired.

- Familiarity with:
---Board bring-up practices.
---Debugging tools and other test equipment.
---Datasheets and electrical / mechanical parameters.
---Ability to support and engage with customers from engineering to executive levels.
---Willingness to assist in both simple and complex technical problems.

- Organized, Self-driven and Customer focused.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Excellent customer skills
- Diligent, detail-oriented, and willing to take initiative and handle assignments with minimal supervision. Inherent sense of urgency and accountability; able to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Effective interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills; able to interface internally and externally with all levels of the organization.
