Description:
Seeking Sr. Database QA Engineer who will:
- Understand and test advanced query optimization algorithms
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to QA team
- Assure quality and reliability of our product line
- Increase effectiveness of our engineering team as a whole through joint activities with other team members
- Improve our engineering process through direct participation, observation, feedback and creativity

Responsibilities include:
- Design test matrices, strategies and tests to test product features especially in the query optimization area
- Participate in Scrum iterations creating tests simultaneously with feature development
- Maintain bug database and bug life cycle and ensure timely verification of bug fixes
- File well documented bug tickets that allow for reproducibility
- Design, develop and extend test framework and test automation
- Assist in release management
Technical Support

Requirement:
- Ability to align test creation with business requirements
- Experienced in scripting languages such as Python (preferred) or Expect
- Experienced in SQL with ability to write queries, design schema, write stored procedures (TSQL, PL/SQL)
- Familiar with database technologies including two or more of Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL
- Familiarity with C/C++ and GNU debugger v- Ability to effective communicate product flaws
- Ability to understand and synthesize requirements to produce test plans and tests
- Able to install and configure Linux and/or Solaris
- Good understanding of TCP/IP
- Minimum 6 years software company experience or equivalent
- Minimum one previous software start-up experience
- Minimum two years development test scripts
- Experience testing enterprise applications
- Minimum 4 years testing a database or data warehouse product
- BS or better in a technical field (Computer Science preferred)

Highly Desired Technical Skills
- Familiar with object-oriented design and programming
- Familiar with Business Intelligence products (e.g. Informatica, Business Objects, MS Business Suite)
- Experience in testing in Windows environment
